About Me
Quoleena completed her undergraduate studies as a dance major at San Diego State University, to earn a BA in Liberal Arts and Sciences in 2000. In December 2010 she earned an MFA in Photography with an emphasis in documentary, from the Academy of Art University, San Francisco, CA.
Quoleena has worked freelance in the Denver area, including Metropolitan State University of Denver and The Denver Post entertainment blog, HeyReverb. During her time with Reverb, she wrote and photographed the weekly nightlife section, Hot Shots, and also photographed live concerts and events, some of which appeared in print in The Denver Post newspaper.
She exhibited in the 2012 Cherry Creek Arts Festival in the Emerging Artists category, for her documentary work on Pine Ridge Reservation, South Dakota. She also exhibited at Cherry Creek Art Festival's inaugural event, Art Denver 2014, where she presented her urban landscape and still life work. She exhibited her fine art work in Denver's Month of Photography 2015, at Lapis Gallery in the Tennyson Arts District and at The Dairy Center for the Arts in Boulder.

During her first year of attending grad school remotely, Quoleena lived in Islamorada, Florida Keys. She worked at Theater of the Sea, where she captured photos and videos of dolphin, sea lion, and sting ray swims as well as other photography around the park. She often spent her lunches swimming with the sting rays and feeding shrimp to the babies. She spent her final two years of grad school in Miami, where she completed her graduate thesis project, "Scratch the Surface."

Quoleena published six novels from 2014-2019, available in bookstores online in paperback and eBook formats. She designed/photographed all the novel covers except for "Slip" (base image edited from postermywall.com).

"Walk A Mile" EP out now
This EP includes 5 songs: 1) "Snake Oil (The Dumpty Song)" (about the criminal in chief) 2) "Senseless" (details the reported events surrounding the killing of Breonna Taylor on March 13, 2020) 3) "Dirty" (two stories of racism in America) 4) "Walk On By" (debut song from the perspective of a fictional homeless person) 5) "CRUMBLE" (because enough is enough).
Album cover backstory: Quoleena was still living in Denver during her first semester in grad school (2007). One of her courses required a series of self portraits, and this is one of them. She'd previously scouted the location (Five Points, Denver) then planned her outfit accordingly, featuring her voluminous wedding gown slip (from June 2002). She set up her camera on a tripod, framed it and planned her mark as her husband and then 2-year-old watched from the car. Having no remote shutter release at the time, her husband's task was to press the shutter, making sure not to adjust anything so it would still qualify as a self portrait. After a few minutes, off they went, clueless that it would one day become her album cover.
